Company car.

Choice for the budget and size car I want is between Vectra and Mondeo.

VW/Audi are significantly more to lease - A low end A4 comes in similar to a top end Mondeo.

Top Gear are always going on about how good the newest Mondeo is.

my audi a4 runs out of lease in a few months. I am seriously considering the Mondeo Estate. Its the only estate I can get without upgrading, and whilslt I could get the accord saloon for nowt, I'm sick of the impracticallity of saloons even though I loved the accord.

Hopefully the reviews of the mondeo are accurate. It certainly looks good.

Oh and James Bond drives one

With you on this one.
The estate looks (marginally) better, but very much a styling excercise to try and make it look a lot different fron the last one, which it has with dismal (read crap) results IMHO, much to many lines and angles, particularly the back end.
And i'm not against them I my last 2 cars have been Mondeo's, this one just lost it though!

As it's a company car - I'll allow some tolerance. It's merely a spanner in the toolbox, I dare say it will do the job favourably... I just got rid of my Skoda Octavia which is hardly an Oil Painting is it? Did the 100K job without missing a beat. Excellent tool, but that's all.

Have a great 2008!!!

Dont get the vectra estate, it swops between under and over steer at the drop of a hat, however the saloon 150Bhp 1900D is a diferent matter its about the same as the mondeo. Great rep mobiles.

Interestingly enough, the Octavia Estate (Elegance) is a few quid more than the Mondeo estate (Titanium)

If I remember correctly, the Octavia is significantly smaller, is it not? The mondy looks to be at least the same size as my current car (Omega) and I don't want to sacrifice any space.

Given the current vectra model is due to be replaced shortly after I'll get the car, it was kind of lower down on the list anyhow (although it does come with things like Satnav unlike the Mondy)

Quite surprised they don't fit traction control to the veccy as standard....

my dad's not long bought a new mondy estate and loves it, shed loads of room and a ride far improved over the last model which he also loved at the time!

he's slightly upset at the moment though as some idiot drove into the wing in toddington service station denied all knowledge and drove off so not even 800 miles on the clock and i'd say it needs a new wing and bumper and it's creased the wing on a feature line.
