Is it me or does the new Tesla car in USA look a bit familair?

Nice looking car with good performance for an electric one. Does any body think it will take off??
Steve
Looks rather nice. Should sell well to a niche market. Anyone sussed out how much they are. Im self confessed stingy but sending $5000 to get on the waiting list without a guide for 2009 prices being released sounds mad to me.
check out the power graph.
what so called high performancs gas engine only produces about 120lb ft torque...not a high performance one thats what.
ITS MADE IN THE UK
I would guess that the "high performance 4 cylinder engine" producing the 120lb ft torque was the engine that used to sit in the Elise
chassis that the Tesla uses. Namely the 1.8vvti jobby from Toyota.
Personally I would love one, if it weren't for the price tag and the shoddy fiberglass/paint-job I noticed on the model on moving display at FOS
last year.

I fancy the electric version - 0-60 in 4 seconds with hardly a sound! You could creep up behind chavmobiles in stealth mode and shout BOO!
Yes, but did you check the price of those things? For that, I'd want a speaker with noise coming out.
I like but just 'customized' my own car and the cost came to $102,950
Cant afford 50k for a car
