tjoh84 - 9/1/08 at 06:40 PM

HIYA HAVING MY CONVERSION DONE IN COUPLE OF WEEKS TO R1 ENGINE JUST WONDERED WHAT YOU ALL PAY FOR INSURANCE

zxrlocost - 9/1/08 at 06:42 PM

hi terry as your now in the BEC owners club once your members pack comes through adrian flux offers discounts

I was 21 when i had my first car 380 quid

now 24 and would be a bit cheaper

ta chris

COOL

Kriss - 9/1/08 at 07:45 PM

yeah i would go through flux. then next year get onto the specialists who do over 25's

but as the premiums are so low to begin with there is not massive saving. £40 - £60 i estimate.

damn, you would think the ProducT Executive for MORE TH>N in sirance would insure himself - damn Underwriting!

Flux have now got a lot wiser to the bike engined cars though. You pay a big premium for having a bike engine over a car engine. They dont fall for the 'its only got a 1000cc engine' trick anymore.

Quite agree, its not going to be extortionate, but its wont be as cheap as insuring a BEC 3 years ago is the point I was trying to make.

My 2 litre pinto engined GTS is just over £500 on a 3000 mile policy and I am now 23.

I'm just looking to have a go at insuring my first one if what i look at this weekend is good.
23, 3yrs NCB on my works car.

What do people find their average milage? (Sorry to hijack...)
Im used to 50k in my car at the mo....

Toady1 - 9/1/08 at 11:00 PM

my 1st year of owning mine was about 600 miles as the engine went bang! I converted it to bec over last winter/spring, and since done around 800 more, im 27 and paying £240 for a 3k mile policy with Graham Sykes

Was 20 when we insured our blade, footman james was the only company that would quote £600 for the year for me and my step dad. 3k a year i think!

Im 22 and i think sureterm gave me and my dad the best quote on a R1 bec. Think we had a quote for £600 slightly discounted being members of a club like the bec owners doing 5,000m a year.
