MP3 Player

I want to buy myself an MP3 player but don't want to pay IPod prices, I just want something simple.
Does anybody have any recommendations or any suggestions for particular features to look for?

I've just looked at the Technika ones in Tesco and at under £20 I suppose that I can't loose a lot but just wondered if there are any particular features that I should look for?

How about a PSP Slim.

Bulky I know, but plays games and movies.

I use one, but if I had a half decent computer at home, Id use it more

For Xmas I got my boys each + one for the wife and I to share "sansa e250" s
I bought online as refurbs 2 gig with room for a 2 gig expansion card. Basically the same as the nano but at $39.00 Canadian or 18 pounds or so.
Quite nice little units - also has fm, voice record, video playback.

I bought my mum a Sony Walkman "stick" type MP3 player last week from Argos.
2 Gb
Colour display
etc.
£25 in the sale.
I'd recommend it, it's not drag-and-drop, you need to use the supplied software to stick music on it, but it's so simple my Mum can use it without ringing me every 5 mins to sort it out

Keep an eye out on UKhotdeals for bargains.

Another vote for creative zen. My longest lasting mp3 player ever. Half the price of the equivilent ipod and it has survived the washing machine a couple of times

Creative and iRiver make some really neat MP3 players. The Chinese ones are very variable in quality, some are good value, other are junk.

I bought this one as a Christmas present for my sister-in-law and she's been very pleased with it. Has an FM radio built in and a micro SD memory slot to expand the memory if you require it. £14.95 +p&p from the marketplace sellers (also available in black but quite a bit more expensive).

It is a Chinese device AFAIK but you wouldn't think so from the build quality and packaging.

It's worth making sure there is a way to navigate through folders. I've got a 512Mb mp3 USB-stick style MP3 player but you have to put all the files in main folder. You have to press "next" each time you want to skip a track. Finding a specific file can take quite a while...
