My huge marshall dynabolt TIG welder is american, can be strapped for single two or 3 phases, its fine in my garage up to around 250 amps.... Its very
similar to a Millers set, most of these are the same.
Only dwnside is that I have a seperate circuit breaker straigt to the meter @ 67amps and some armoured cable to my garage.
But its a commercial tool which will not go wrong !
All three of my sets are single phase
Cebora MIG
Cebora AC TiG
Oxford MMA
All have earnt me a reasonable living.
AC TIG Welders are not suitable for the welding of alluminium though
Single phase welders are just fine. Unless you need a high welding current or want to use it in an industrial situation.

AC TIG welders ARE for aluminium, its DC ones that cant do ally!!!

We have a single phase tig set at work that runs on a 16amp blue plug.I used it to weld my inlet manifold but it struggled and virtually melted the
handset, it would be fine for smaller items such as header tanks etc.
Paul.
I have the same machine as Wadders, great but needs a dedicated supply if run on 240v, it can draw up to 58 amps on full load.
