Hi all,
I've put a weber carb with Pinto manifold on the bay, which I think is a 38 DGAS. Looking at some of the other stuff on there today, it looks
like the 34/36 DGV looks very similar - is there an easy way to tell them apart? I can't tell you what car it originally came off as it was a
modded engine in a transit - it's an older 1.6 pinto, so possibly cortina / crapi?
All suggestions gratefully received, as usual
Thanks,
Vince
Its likely to be the DGV carb.
The 38DGAS was never a standard fitment on the pinto, it was the carb fitted as standard to the essex v6. (i think it might have been found in a few
RS2000 mk2 escorts too, but they were rare)
Post a link to the ebay ad and I'll have a look.
There is an easy way to tell. The 38DGAS has two quadrant gears which open the butterflies simultaneously. The DGV carb has a series of levers which
link the throttle spindles.

i bought a 38dgas fitted to a pinto manifold a few years back. at least i think it was a 38dgas. its on the garage. originally fitted to 3 litre capris, but a popular mod for 2litre pintos i'm told
