looks like I may be doing a favour for a mate weekend after next, driving his new purchase half way up the country (assuming all goes to plan, and of
course at his expense).
Only problem is insurance...
Being under 25 I can't just drive the car 3rd party f&t under my policy, and I can't even have that added to my policy for a fee
So what I need is a policy to cover me for this one trip. Before I phone my insurance co tomo and ask them I thought I'd ask here.
Can you get a short term policy to cover this kind of thing? or do I just take out a year's cover and cancel it when I'm finished using it
and get a refund on the unexpired term?
Oh and by the way, the "new" car is a Triumph GT6 and I'm very much looking forward to a drive
You can either get a years insurance and cancel it or get traders insurance.

Hey thinkingaboutit, I'm afraid they are no help as they don't have such antiquated things as Triumphs in their car details options. It
also seems that a lot of these temporary car insurance companies won't insure a classic car, or indeed a driver under 25....
Have found one place that seem capable of covering both me and the car for ~ £20 for comprehensive cover for the day which seems pretty reasonable.
tempcover
try this lot aswell
dayinsure
Davie
hey davie,
that place looked absolutely perfect ~ £10 per day including breakdown cover, age no problem.
unfortunately in the very very small print... they don't do classic cars
cheers guys.
footman james?
they have covered me before for classics for the day
Can't your mate add you to his policy as a named driver?
