Hi,

I have a couple of honda ATC 70 trikes, and want to build some sort of stacker for them, looking for some design ideas.

One is to use a high lift jack on both ends of a frame, but that will be expensive for the jacks and possibley awkward to get the bottom trike out.

Other is to make a stand similar to an engine crane with a block and tackle and lift a cradle holding one trike and wheel the other one in on the floor below.

It is going into a corner so will only have access from two sides (front and side).

Anyone got any other ideas? Or refinements to my first thoughts? Please post up.

Stack howmany? With single seater racecars you can put one on the floor and one onto a ramp/block above the other car. This ramp is wider than the car so you can have access to both cars. You can ofcource use bars that stick out of the wall like some garages. You put the trike onto it with a hydrolic car. I don't know the english word for it. The industrial little cars for transporting and stacking pallets.

Alco are you thinking of a forklift? I have been thinking about this for 2 locosts. My favorite solution at the moment is to get an old 4 post or 2 post lift, these can be quite cheap from garages or tyre places that are closing if you arrange to dismantle. The second idea involved a couple of chain blocks and some specific eye bolts on the chassis, this works if you have a good roof structure. I am more interested in plan A but will also have to try and raise the roof of my lock up so planning application and a lot of bricks will be required!

How heavy are they? Just wondering if you could make a high table on castors. One on top lifted with block and tackle as you say above, castors mean it can be moved around. Double table will mean lower one can be wheeled in as well.
