I am thinking about opening an eBay shop to sell a range of stuff which I am still compiling and wondered if there were any traders on here who could
offer some tips before I commit myself.
I was originally intending to get trader status on here but the £15 (ish) per month charge will not be cost effective to start things off but maybe
later things will change.
Any tips or suggestions are welcome
have you considered systems like cubecart? Will save in ebay fees, you wil just have to get yourself up the google rankings.
You could probab'y drop Jon Ison a U2U, his wife does it on a permanent basis (I think) so they will probably have some good advice for you.

Work out your EBay, pay-pal and Postage costs before you list it all adds up. I know it sounds stupid but it does mount up. And you can soon end up
selling parts for not a lot.

I've been doing it for a short while, but haven't gone for an "Ebay shop" because although it's cheaper to list & you can
list "Buy it Now" stuff for longer, the percentages they take are actually higher. Bythe time you've got Paypal fees, listing fees
& final valuation fees as said above you can finish up selling stuff for not a lot & IIRC it's £6 a month whether you sell anything or
not (not easy to sell stuff either b4 after or during any hols you take!).
Now I've sold a fair bit of stuff I'm going to re-evaluate the pros & cons of the shop system (after my Ski hol next week!) - I'll
let you know what I come up with.
Nitram (with the Motaleira) has an Ebay shop, but he's still working so presumably hasn't made any millions as yet!
