Yep ebay is getting a bit daft, its rare to find a bargain on there nowadays

Mind you, when it comes to selling crap stuff you can guarantee theres always someone willing to buy it for more than its worth

What kind of welder you after?

Paradoxia0 - 8/2/08 at 11:27 PM

ebay is all about demand and timing...

I cannot remember the specifics. I bought something, realised it was not what I was after, re-listed it and sold it for nearly double what I paid for it.... Very bizzare!

It does have it's uses for finding randon stuff though!

I agree that to sell stuff it great, but when you want a bargain it frustrating.

I'm looking for a 150amp ish mig welder, would prefer a murex 180ish secondhand but there going for big bucks.

Its the long game on ebay these days to eek out a bargain

I just sold a philips senseo coffee maker on fleabay for 99p. The guy came round to pick it up and felt bad for the price so he gave me a tenner!

He'll regret that when he tastes the coffee. Its fecking awful. arf

my dad recently bought a second hand walk in bath for £95.

my grandad decided he didn't really want a walk in one, so stuck it back on ebay and it sold for £275.

the only difference was a decent picture.
let that be a lesson to you all.

i got 2 running mazda miatas, 1 was road worthy for £400 delivered

Rooting around my shed last year looking for somthing i never found.

I came accros a Bedford CF ignition lock & key, indicator stalk and light stalk.

I thought i would give them a go on ebay before i chucked them.

Imagine my surprise when they all sold for good money. £57 for the lock. £54 for the indicator stalk. £51 for the lighting stalk.

All the buyers paid OK.

With the money made, I bought a 2ton engine crane + engine stand + adjustable engine lifting beam. Just under £150 including delivery

A good deal for me all round.

A couple of years ago I'd have thrown the stuff straight into the skip.

I got a cracking Hayabusa engine complete with throttle bodies in November for just over £600. I didn't think he'd let it go for that but he was as good as gold. He had mis-spelt Hayabusa so nobody was seeing it! It's always worth looking at variations on the spelling of what you are looking for just in case. A friend of a friend makes a living out of just doing that, buys cheap and sells for a good profit.

My pinto and flywheel just sold for £1000

my bro buys and sells cars largely via ebay, and yep, a decent advert does the trick!

A recent buy was £1200, then valeted and sold within the week for £2100, no problems.

Things to avoid are: putting a reserve on the auction, putting a buy it now on the auction, stupid huge lettering in the ad, poor photos, short descriptions.
