Guests don't get to see the pics I'm afraid - just tried.

Found it elsewhere though.

Won't rust? No but'll it go white and then flake.

It's very nice, very bling, but totally hidden and utterly pointless imho.

How much lighter would a steel chassis have been for same strength?

Nice till you prang it. Try repairing that.

FFS, that is so using the wrong material in the wrong application

I wonder if Aluminium would viable for a locost chassis or has that been discussed before.

I vaguely seem to recall something about this

Most cobras only get pushed out of the garage to be polished and to have the engine fired up for the owners mates, so it'll be fine.

The aluminium bodies are made by the factory that made Mig fighters so there's a chance it's been properly engineered if they are making them.

a chance, yes, but in reality, not.

4500 ftlb/degree is rubbish for that amount of expenditure. an aluminium honeycomb monocoque would have made it far stiffer and no doubt been lighter.

as fred said, completely wrong material for that application.

That looks like an I or C section ladder chassis.
4500ftlbs/degree? not in that case, 400 maybe......
