Meant to be picking my race car up tomorrow. It has had a new engine put in and we are taking it for a rolling road. It is located about 100 miles
away. My trailer has its wheel lock on and I can't find the key anywhere. I have turned the house upside down and still no luck. So I called
the engine builder up and asked how many keys are on the keyring for my car? He said 'The killswitch key, the ignition key and a tubular
key'.
Bugger, the tubular key unlocks my trailer
o well it happens
hope all goes better for you with new engine on dyno run good luck o and don't forget your keys lol
thats a quality booboo!
Ive got a friend to take me to pick up a car and then forgetten the key, which is nearly as bad, just maybe '95 miles
not so bad'
get the grinder out

i bet thats the last time you lose that key.

The answer is to put a bit of string around the lock, with the key on

Carry a spare?
nightmare! I once put the steering lock on the tintop and at almost the exact point the lock clicked i remembered i was using the spare keys! Only about 5 mikes away but still had to take a bus!
Drive there with the trailer on the roof rack?
I drove all the way from Whitby to the west coast of Scotland towing a RIB and when I got there, I realised that I didn't have the key to unlock
the trailer from the towball. I actually found out after I got a puncture on the trailer in the middle of knowhere. I couldn't unlock the spare
off the trailer because the key was with the hitchlock key. I couldn,t unhitch the trailer to go and get another spare or get the flatty fixed. I
ended up taking the tyre off the spare with it still locked to the bottom of the trailer and then fitting it to the trailer wheel using whatever bits
of tools I could find and then spending ages trying to get some air into the tyre to get it onto the rim to blow it up, with a manky wobbly old
footpump. I had breakdown cover but no signal on my 'phone and no other cars or houses for miles!
I got the keys posted up to me!
