If I had found a Bond Bug, engineless but pretty much everything else there what sort of price should I be paying ?
And then what should I do ?
I know what i want to do with it but would that be a waste of a Bond Bug ?
well it all depend on whether the current owner hates it and just how bad it is. Engineless 100 quid tops with the logbook. 50 quid without.

Not a big fan of BEC's but this is crying out for it, one of the compact honda V fours would be good, VFR800 VTEC?.... I know they are the preverbial collectors items now, but incomplete, can't be worth much more than £500.
First thing i would do is add an extra front wheel, they are very unstable with the one wheel at front layout unlike the morgan layout which is much
better.Brakes would also be not much use .
Would the axle be up to the power ? i dont think they are particulaly strong and so really it just leaves you with the body shell and best thing to do
with that would be Burn it.

I tried in vain to get an owner of a trike messerschmitt to sell me the car/bike. It was in quite a mess but all there and I could see potential. Bugged the guy for over a year and gave up, he just seemed to want it to rot away. What a total waste.

I've seen a white one in the Sheffield/Chesterfield area on 4 wheels, looks quite neat, have no more details tho...
one of my neighbours used to have one, surprisingly strong in a crash - which was quite handy as they seemed to have a solid-object-magnet built into
the handling

Bugs are an "alternative" classic and fetch good money. An engineless one is still worth something if the chassis and shell are in good
nick. £100s definatly, £1000 or two perhaps.
I hate to see old cars cut up or heavily modified unless there are loads of them like minis. If I had one I'd fit a Rialto engine and box, and
perhaps 12" rear wheels but otherwise keep it standard.
I've known the Reliant axles to handle about 90BHP (Yamaha XS1100)in a Trike but any more and they will break.

Bond Bug Bloody awful things to drive --- they actually were less stable and less pleasant to drive than the Reliant Regal/Robin.
Nice engine though developed from the 3 bearing version of the Austin Seven engine but with an alloy block and ann OVH head.

In this case crush every last one --- I haveactually driven a few frightening even at 5 mph.
