Another talent gone, guess he'll be giving Roy a hard time again now.
Boyd RIP

How sad. I was a big fan of the show. I wonder what he died of.
What a bummer ! One of my favorite petrol head programes. Hope his son does'nt try to mirror his famous fathers talents.

shortness of breath would be a safe assumption....
what a total wounder!!!!used to laugh my tits off when he'd have a go @ blue bear
Compared to Foose he came off as a COMPLETE a$$hole, but still, he was a legend in the business and it will be interesting to see what the future of
Coddington rods holds, since he wasn't really involved in the builds much anymore
R.I.P Boyd
Very sad, never thought he would go so soon after Roy
Sad to see him gone, his lack of man-management skills was second only to Paul Teutil snr's.
Can't believe he was only 63 though, even though he obviously dyed his beard and hair he looked ancient, and has been around on the hot rod scene
forever.
RIP

the artist has gone but the works of art live on....

A few pics from our visit a couple of years ago
Boyd was away at a show but cool to have been and seem.

sad loss

Man, are those ever ugly cars! But you have to admire the workmanship. So So Cal, which is not at all my thing, personally. His show was mildly entertaining.
RIP Boyd.
I had planned a visit there on my holiday in California on the 27th March
Emailed boyd a few times asking if it would be possible to have a look around
Sadly missed,Another talent gone
Hopefully the company will keep going in boyds memory
wow
I was just watching him on the telly yesterday night running the hot rod shop.

I love most auto related shows, I stopped watching his show in season 1, you can't treat people like that and be in business long, surprised he
didn't declare bankruptcy again.
his absolute hatred for chip foose was baffling, the guy mad his business what it is, but he goes out on his own to make a name for himself and hes a
backstabber.
Boyd only became successful by leaching the talent from his underlings while keeping them down.
That's a bit harsh! (I know - who am I to talk!)
Whippy is only sharing an opinion. One that probably a few people have and he does get on with some of his own car building.
But sharing an opinion aout a public car builder on car building forum isn't exactly way of the mark IMO.

He just died, he did not ask if you thought he was stressed, he was a great inspiration to many builders worldwide, get a grip and make some posts up elsewhere!
I sometimes wonder if people are building cars or posting on a blog forums..........

You posted 8 times in 2004, once in 2007 and thrice today. You have a picture of a can of worms in your archive and apart from one mildly constuctive
comment about an S2000, don't seem to be of much use.
Why, exactly, are you here and could you do us a favour?
Not post for another three years!
Thanks
Simon
You are right, god.

Calm down fellas, we dont want to get banned again do we.
Watched a coulpe of his programes round at my mate house, good workmanship. RIP man.
Just heard the news i as walked into the office from a fellow petrol head. The hot rod world will certanly be a pooer place now.
RIP Boyd
I can't believe how clean the place looked
or the total lack of safety specs.
I learnt quite a lot watching the program though I really just got jealous of all the fancy tools they have
RIP Boyd
I agree he could be a bit of a tit but he was a legend in his field and I enjoy watching the programmes...The world will be a little greyer without
him...
Have to agree with Mr Whippy's comments... I always find their lack of safety equipment amazing! but would love to be let loose in that
workshop...
I often tried to watch American Hot Rod, just for the craftsmanship and the finished cars. Hotrods are not my thing but the work was a joy to behold.
I never watched a whole episode because I got too annoyed. Boyd may well have been a talented hot rod maker but the programme should be shown in
business schools as a definitive example of how not to run a company and how not to manage people.
What will happen to his shop now that he’s gone? If the bald guy takes over, they’re sunk.
Its a real shame to hear that . Watching the show he wasnt the best manager giving me and my dad a few laughs but definetly built some of the nicest
hot rods ive ever seen.
