Know there's a large Pratchett fan contingent on this site.

Radio4 (92.5 fm) have dramatised Nightwatch and it's on tonight at 11pm.
Their other Pratchetts have been really well done IMO so really looking forward to this.

For those who don't know it, Vimes gets transported back in time and has to save himself, his other self, Ankh Morpork.... oh, and the future too!

regarding the book read it at lest twice one of pratchets finest as I find vimes facinating as a character !!!.

Just in case you've missed the trailers - "The Colour of Magic" is on TV on Sunday night....

I saw the hogfather on the tv, I liked it apart from Death as his face (skull) didn't move and the voice was wrong..

Mort is still my fave though Strata is a close second, when I worked on offshore drill bits we always referred too the rubber junk that got stuck in the jets as - Dinosaur wellies

Well, that's not how Colon is supposed to sound!!!



But apart from that, I thought it was pretty well done.

Just finishing reading the book again. Had forgotten how 'dark' it is.... specially when he's down in the cells of the Unmentionables!

Oh, and I gather a film of The Colour of Magic has just premiered... starring the guy who played Sam in Lord of the Rings and David Jason.

I think Terry Pratchett is one of the all time great writers. It is unfortunate that because he writes stories that are considered SF/Fantasy, he doesn't get the credit he deserves.
I think he ranks alondside any of the greats, such as Swift, Shakespeare, Aesop, Dickens etc. He certainly understands the 'human condition'.
The scariest thing I have ever read is 'About the Author'. To think that a wordsmith of his calibre and abilities to twist logic and make it seem reasonable, worked for the nuclear industry, scares me to bits.
