Smart51 on here is building one: http://locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=86345
You would put it through MSVA which dispenses with many of the more onerous requirements of SVA.
does it have to have 3 wheels anyone got a link for the test this sort of car has to have.

I've wanted to build a tiny car for years but it was this episode of Top Gear that made me get started. I was going to build a modern day P50
but then thought that a single seater was a bit lonely so moved up to Peel's other car, the trident.
You can't get hydraulic brakes for 5" wheels, nor 8" wheels properly, so I've gone for 10s. That makes the car longer and wider.
And heavier. Having your toes right by the front wall is frowned upon these days too.
My car will be as long as a Smart, though not as wide or as tall. You could probably make something smaller and SVA it, but nothing quite as tiny as
the P50.
is there any way you could put it through MSVA?
the quad ive got is 6v and its got brake lights and front lights
so would be easy to make one out of.and electric start.

MSVA is for 3 wheelers and 4 wheelers with less than 15kW of power and less than 400kg in weight. A Peel P50 look alike would go to MSVA. The rules are very similar though.
If you want to build a Peel P50 or Trident,
