I was just thinking the same thing about my partners cheese and ham toastie here in the office 

Tiger ERA HSS - single make race series but not sure how well its taken off. I believe its doing ok but would rather do 750MC Locost / RGB myself.

They tested a road going one on top gear last year
Couldn't you make a substitute box from a Type 9 and a diff with no prop, just a joint with a flange on the back and a splined front? I know it
would be a bit longer, but it would be cheaper than £4k

A Renault or Audi transaxle would be the best choice, I think a type 9 plus a diff wuld be to long to fit.

, i know this is of no use just thought i'de mention it ,second hand type
9's seem to be around £2000 if you can find them a renault transaxle could be had for a few hundered quid
