When is SVA needed?

With my MNR build coming to the end and just SVA and DVLA to sort my mind is turning to my next project

And its going to be (drum roll) a Saxo with 2L zetec power up front, north south running RWD with sierra back end.

From the expertise on this here forum I intend to use a cradle for the diff with uprights and bones much the same as we use on our 7's. So, chopping the boot floor, moving the fuel tank and enlarging the tunnel and bulkhead at the front, along with a rack conversion and front suspension from a Mk1/2 Escort set up.

Will this amount of construction need an SVA for the modified body? Anyone done anything similar??

Anything structural requires SVA, I think you'd have difficulty persuading them that what you're doing isn't structural!

Hmm, thats my point.. how much chopping around makes it a 'radically altered vehicle'?
The front bulkhead to modify, half the forward tunnel but not all of it to accommodate the gearbox. The prop should be able to run in the original tunnel. Plus a new boot floor to accommodate the back axle.
