Well I think the Lamborghini is a very green car and I do not eat piggies or cows but beans and rice.

So do you think I will get freebie Diablo from Mr L?

It is not fair; why is a multi-millionaire given a free car?

One rule for them, another for us.

Sir Paul, who is also a vegan, has previously lauded Lexus for their commitment to making hybrid vehicles. Lexus sponsored the singer’s 2005 US tour.

It all sounds highly principled and above board to me!!

I guess Sir Paul has become sufficiently rich that he's arrived at the level where he doesn't have to pay for anything anymore.

I've worked for a couple of people like that, thought they didn't have to pay me either. They did in the end.

Excellent thread title BTW, although it was Lennon who wrote the original

I love the thought that a hybrid limo could be in any way environmentally friendly!

People miss a massive point here: The amount of energy used to build a production car (talking here about the energy to produce the steel, plastics, wiring, run the production plant, transport the bits together for assembly) is way more than the car will ever generate by burning fuel, unless you were to drive about a million miles. That's not to mention the safe disposal of the batteries from the car...

Maybe Macca expected a quick delivery time?

stupid enviro-mentals wish they’d just top themselves, all that hot air they emit is warming the planet!

mackei23b - 14/5/08 at 03:37 PM

I could offer to take the Lexus and the burden off the poor mans shoulders

Mr Whippy - 14/5/08 at 04:12 PM

the flash git should be using a push bike anyway if he really gave a toss. How could a 2 ton tank be even the slightest bit green?!

speedyxjs - 14/5/08 at 04:33 PM

Doesnt the lexus still only do about 35mpg?

Peteff - 14/5/08 at 04:45 PM

Lexus also sponsored his US tour, I wonder if he walked most of it to cut down on emissions.

Pathetic, really how the Lexus hybrids are considered to be somehow 'green'. They get lousy mileage, are hideous and are going to have horrible disposal problem with all those batteries.

My daily driver is a 7-year old 133k mile 330d touring (chipped) - I get 44mpg day-in day-out and the 230bhp and 500 Nm don't hurt either :-)

Honestly, for a daily driver, especially if you do a lot of A-road and motorway, a big diesel will give you far more fun and equal if not better fuel economy to any silly hybrid.
