Hello Chaps,
Not been on here in a while due to hectic work schedule but this was the first place I thought of to gather ideas for an anoying problem....
My girlfriend has been having numerous calls from one of those mobile phone companies offering a new contract etc.
In her naivety she gave the guy on the phone her details and in my opinion, he was asking too many questions not necessary when starting a new phone
contract.
I am going to ring up thisevening to speak to someone and demand that they delete her details and stop ringing, however, her dad spoke to them on
Monday and told them the same but there has since been seven more calls.
I have the company name and the number/numbers that they ring from (always the same number or very similar) but I don't have any names of the
people/person phoning.
If I am unsuccessful after ringing them later does anyone have any suggestions as to the next step?
post the number up, we can give them some crank calls.
I will do, but initially I was after some ideas as to what I can threaten them with....ie if more calls come through, is there a mobile phone company
trading standards type organisation that it can be taken to....or something similar....??
Chris, it is on her mobile....can you do the same?

lol had the same kind of thing a few years back. asked them if they REALLY thought i'd move from britains biggest mobile phone provider (o2,
through carphone warehouse) to move to some shitty company i've never heard of? and can their service be that good, that after 7 calls they still
can't get it into their tiny minds that they is NO f'ing way i'm interested, and they should take my name off whatever f'ing list
they've got me on, otherwise i'm contacting the police for harassment, and they should just f*** right off.
never called again after that...
Ofcom is the independent regulator and competition authority for the UK communications industries, with responsibilities across television, radio,
telecommunications and wireless communications services
linky
Ok, we have a plan...
call them up, then in no uncertain terms tell them to leave her alone and to delete her details whilst threatening to contact ofcom then get the
numbers barred by her network provider THEN post the name of the company and its numbers on here for some time-wasting!
Nice one, thank you guys
Next time they call tell them she's dead, or my mates rather sick favourite "I'm sorry you've just interupted me b*mming my
dog" - sick but seems to do the trick.

Get youself and her on the TPS
http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/
It works well.
That TPS sounds like a good thing, I was unaware of that. Thanks Ian.
I find a simple
"when are you going to get it into your tiny little mind that I don't want a mobile phone from your stupid f@cking company. Now pi$$ off
before I come to your building and get medaeval on your arse with a 80s stlye Nokia brick".....
does the trick
Or offer to report them to Ofcom for harassment.....
or....
they're usually paid to get you on a contract. When I explain I'm on pay-as-you-go and I spend £5 a month and I love my old Nokia 3330 they
lose interest...
Similar technique to the one used by a neighbour - they went through a phase of getting calls from people trying to sell double glazing.
In they end they said "You'll have to talk to our landlord, we only rent the property" (in truth they did own the house). They never
got a call after that...
I'm looking forward to them ringing now!
How about a AIR HORN blasted down the phone when they ring
Just tell them to hold a moment, then put the phone down on one side and continue watching the telly or doing whatever you were when they called.
Paul.
Give me the company name and address and I'll try and get you the contact details of the MD then ring him/her at home, thats what I do. Had a
slight issue with Scottish Power, gave the md a call at home 3 weeks later full refund!

If you say you are registered with the TPS They will say sorry and hang up and thats the last you will hear from them. Its been the only time anybody has said sorry to me!!!!
