You called, Alan.............

Alan B - 2/12/03 at 04:42 AM

Nice one Ian....

However, does anyone recall their first replies?....

I seem to remember....

Steve Gust.......said something about his car being different but it was well on the way....

Metal Hippy....said something about his car being different and it was almost started......

ChrisG...said bollox

Ned...said something

Bob....nearly said something but Mrs Bob was looking over his shoulder

Rorty...implied that Syd was a w*****r

Syd...implied that Rorty was a w*****r

Then I replied to my own thread saying ...yes course I would....who is she by the way?

Metal Hippy - 2/12/03 at 05:01 AM

Don't suppose you could reveal how you're finding that out could you...?

stephen_gusterson - 2/12/03 at 10:08 AM

Thats almost smack on!

Funny how my (fictional) statement is still true 20 months on

I do remember posting to a ChrisW ad on TOL that this site only had 100 members and was a waste of time. So glad I didnt spend too much effort on here.

back on the 15th April, 11.22am I asked about whether an xr4x4 could be a good donor. DOH! thread here: http://locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=4545 for anyone who actually cares.

See, it was related to locosts

Ned.

Mark H - 2/12/03 at 11:11 AM

Well, my first two were "is this locost still for sale" to 2 different bods who never replied. The third was showing interest in someone elses build.

My fourth is the one that shows my lack of knowledge up...!

"Hi Everyone,

I have just brought my Ford Sierra 1.8 donor (Ebay £52 - has a smashed windscreen so noone wants it). I have seen a weber twin choke carb also on Ebay from a 2000cc Mk5 Cortina as cheap as chips.

Can anyone tell me if this will fit my 1.8 pinto, and (more importantly) will it increase the power (though more petrol consumption).

Also is a twin choke Weber the same as twin carbs?

Thanks a lot and apologies for my ignorance. What can I say - I'm an accountant!

Thanks a lot,

Mark (now all I've got to do is do is strip it down, and build a car!) "

Well, I now know the diff between the carbs (i've got twin webers strapped the side currently!) - and the pinto was a CVH! Then i bought a rolling chassis so never used much from it anyway! Man..

stephen_gusterson - 2/12/03 at 11:18 AM

My first post was taking the p1ss out of James for admitting that he was a computer person!
(The thread was congratulating conrod for getting his car through SVA)

theconrodkid - 2/12/03 at 12:08 PM

so how do you find your first post without trawling through my 2000 pages of wisdom?

David Jenkins - 2/12/03 at 12:39 PM

Er - you trawl back through your pearls of wisdom...

Didn't take me too long to go back, even at 20 per page.

David
