Awesome cars... very envious of you.

Ok, so many will claim they don't have the pedigree of Ferrari or Porsche etc, but that's not what they're about. They just get you from A to B as fast as possible and scr3w the looks! Love it.

eh?!

hmm, i don't think i've ever seen 2 skylines the same, but they ALL look stunning!

i remember seeing in max power years ago, a skyline estate.. even that looked good not great, but good.

skodaman - 1/6/08 at 05:27 PM

It'll look ok when it's painted and the front grill is put back on.

Couldn't agree more. The standard Skyline is a bland, boring shape, but when the ricers get busy with the body kits they look hideous. Truly a car for the Xbox generation.

That said, you can't argue with the performance.

UncleFista - 1/6/08 at 05:33 PM

Am I the only one who thinks it looks like a Japanese family saloon thats ramraided a superglue factory, then Ripspeed/Halfords ?

Mr Whippy - 1/6/08 at 05:37 PM

Can’t say I find the looks all that appealing either and as for the sills?! Probably to old fashioned for loads of plastic. I recently had the bad luck to sit through that ‘to fast too bla bla… oh what torture it was totally dreadful, I was so bored I had to call the Samaritans, how the custom car scene has fallen into the gutters

Bet it was very fast though: D

What really sticks out is that door and how it looks like its off another car it so really doesn’t go with anything else!

Well everyone's entitled to his own opinion

Whilst the looks might well be a marmite thing, but that particular car has had some serious work under the bonnet - most of the hard work has been done and another couple of hundred BHP is only a map and a couple of tweeks away .....

It's pretty impressive just now, but it should be awesome when it's finished

Couldn't agree more.

I know there's a certain amount of work gone into it, but I can't admire someone or their car by opening their chequebook and paying Airfix.

I remember going to Custom Car shows back into the v late 70's/ v early 80's and remember seeing some stunning vehicles, which for the most part had been built by the owners.

The Skyline does absolutely nothing for me in the looks department, but I'm sure once behind the wheel, it's a different story.

I think it looks wicked

But then I'm 6 going on 7 at heart.....

blakep82 - 1/6/08 at 07:11 PM

i'm sure the 7 does nothing for most skyline owners, or any modified car owners (like novas/corsas, pug and the like)

each to their own
i like them all

A true car enthusiast would have a place in his/her heart for any car whether it be a kit-car with plastic wings or a skyline with plastic wings or even an old ford escort mk 1. Have a look in my photo archives. All cars a great . Beauty is in the eye of the be holder/owner!

As above - pretty much all cars rock. I'd love a spin in a skyline.

Interesting,I went to the Mersea hot rod car show today,Loads of people looking over the Rods and American muscle. There was a skyline club there too but most just walked by.Funny as most just walked by my se7en too.

Ivan - 1/6/08 at 07:51 PM

I would love a ride in something like that irrespective of what people think of it and would not hesitate to brag about it.

I've got a 7 and I won't disclose which 1 of the others lol

As said before most petrol heads can appreciate the work thats gone into something and if its been done well,
I can't really appreciate somebody handing over there checkbook and having no influence in it, which is what most of the modded scene appears to be now.

bassett - 1/6/08 at 08:26 PM

That looks amazing i have never seen a white R34, the kits mental but it really suits the skyline and its underlying power

Volvorsport - 1/6/08 at 09:19 PM

i remember when all japanese cars were dull passionless boxes , but got from a 2 b very well , now look at em .

Now now... don't tar us all with the same brush . I know of at least two other gtr owners with a 7 stashed in the garage (and another with an ex F3000 car!!). There are plenty of us who are just plain old car nuts.

R32's and 33's are pretty cheap to buy now (sadly running them is a different story!), so you'll find all sorts in them.

Sadly, too often true. They're fearsomely complex, particularly electronics, so not easy to DIY fiddle. Having said that, there are plenty of us who do a lot of work on our cars ourselves. In my case, it usually means I end up breaking something and having to spend more money

And yes, there are far too many of them that have been given the MaxPower treatment .

They're very powerful - even with minor tweaks like induction, exhaust and a boost controller, very fast, but weigh as much as the QE2!

I've started looking at seven kits because I want something I can tinker with - and break - without breaking the bank, and that I can hurl around a track all day and get a new set of disks for £50, rather than half a brake pad!

eznfrank - swap you a ride in mine for a ride in yours ... anytime!

i can appreciate everyones opinions , i myself agree , it may not be to everyones tastes ,but i love it and to me thats what matters. I will say though a hell of a lot of hard work has gone into building this car over the last 4 years ( afterall , i had one of the best teachers you could ask for " Jacko " ) and everything from the engine re-build , re-spray , welding etc,etc as been done all with my own hands. All the parts have been sourced by myself with alot of help of one big tuner , but as most people , i also have ran to a budget.

For those of you that are interested i have a project thread here :- http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=79295

although this is really only what ive done over the last 3 months and theres still loads to do.

cheers Jacko's son Mike

Well I think that's a totally awsome piece of kit and looks superb, well done.

I had a drive of a 500bhp R32 a couple of years ago, I wont forget that in a hurry. Quickest thing I've ever driven ...... scared the crap out of me!!
