I would hate this to happen to anyone but I think destroyed is a bit strong. An expensive paint job to repair the damage, true but destroyed mean beyond repair.

People who do this should be birched

Every panel hit, maybe hes pi55ed someone off or more likely a case of jelousy.

Absolute b@stards, every sympathy with the owner...

Wish I knew what that paint stripper is though, never seen anything attack factory paint as well, would save stacks of elbow grease with the B.

what a mess

I once spilt some from a leaky tin on the blueys sill and on the rear floor mat (were I had put it to take home) and only noticed in the morning. Almost burnt through the mat but took off the paintwork completely down to the metal, evil stuff.

Feel sorry for the guy

No, i think it is actually destroyed. They have hit every single panel, meaning a stripdown and respray over the total car. In addition the bumber looks like it needs replacing, along with the sealed xenon headlight unit. As it is only 6 days old, it would need to be done by an Audi approved shop to keep the anti-corrosion guarantee. This would probably put the total cost circa 15-20k, which may take it over the cusp of a write-off.

^ Which would make it quite a nice bit of salvage to buy.

In Marbella it's very common to see cars with every panel hit 5-10 times with a hammer. There's clearly an unwritten Spanish rule that allows jealous people to smash somebody else's car up!

At least dip the birch in paint stripper first - eye for an eye and all

Too right. Being worryingly obsessive about polish doesn't mean you have the right to make up new words for cleaning

Is it only me that has an utterly irrational hatred of 'detailing'?
