What does anyone use to map out GPS routes for tours / blats?
I'm using a TomTomXL which does have an itinery function but its a bit clunky so I was hoping to find a bit of software that I could use to
prepare maps then import it into the Tomtom.
I've tried using Autoroute but it's very difficult to change the route (ie do anything other than follow the recommended route).
I've also tried Googlemaps which I can create an itinery with, but I find Googlemaps frustrating. If you adjust one bit of the route it
automatically changes everything "downstream" to that bit....
What would be nice is if you could "lock" certain bits of the route and just adjust the bits inbetween....
I know if I start up the top of the route and work my way down with Googlemaps it would work but if I decided half way through to change something up
near the top of the map I'd have to change everything downstream again!!!
Can you not just start and end points then add loads of via... etc etc I have TOMTOM ONE and I do that regularly.

Yup. Can do. But for a really wriggly blat route its a bit of a pain. It's such a shame there isn't a mapping software where you can just freehand draw the route on and let it do the rest.
[cynic] By a damn map and go explore....sod all the electricery! [/cynic]
Been there, got lost, found by the search teams
This was me in the Republic of Ireland. Despite being in a tour of about 30 cars I hadn't seen anyone else for 2 hours, I was running out of
petrol, there were no petrol stations and my mobile wasn't working.... Happy days.
Lovely corner though!!!
