sorry if this is in the wrong place
i have a 50mm tow ball on my car but my trailor has a 2" tow hitch and the noise is driving me crazy
is there any way to shim up the gap or is it a case of save up for a new hitch??
if so where to look for one
many thanks

You shouldn't mix the 2" and 50mm ball/couplings! 50mm balls have a flat spot on the top and the 2" is usually totally spherical with no flat top.
Try these guys if you need a 2" ball. http://www.watling-towbars.co.uk
or the ever useful Ebay!

Further to my above post...
you can buy a new 2" ball to fit the standard holes on your towbar for £20 but it will not be Type Approved.

A trailer with 2" hitch must be over 45 years old, in the UK caravan manufacturers changed to 50mm in 1963. !
