greedy bunch of g*ts.

perhaps the oil suppliers are trying to get as much money from us before everyone moves to fuel cells and electric cars...

that, and George Bush is about to no longer be President, so he needs another income from somewhere ( he, along with his daddy are on the board of directors for a certain oil company in the middle east )

Mr Whippy - 3/7/08 at 09:16 AM

I might buy a big tank and store the stuff, it might be worth more than gold by the end of the year

The days of Mad Max are coming!

it was on the radio this morning that they plan to tax pink diesel .... Brown needs all the money he can get .. the guy on the radio said no chance on the tax being reduced if anything the goverment are looking at other ways of bringing in money

saigonij - 3/7/08 at 09:30 AM

this government needs to get control of its spending.....

local councils spending money on bottle water, free hand outs for anyone who cant be a*sed ot work, free cars, free houses.... spending billions on an NHS IT system that does not work!

graememk - 3/7/08 at 10:24 AM

re open the coalmines and use un paid prisoners in them, sell the coal to china.

loads of goverment cash.

iscmatt - 3/7/08 at 10:34 AM

I've seen you can use veg oi in some normal diesels though can you use biodiesel in normal diesels?? there is a farm near me selling for 90 odd pence/Ltr (is it that the same as red diesel) - very new to the idea of diesel

SeaBass - 3/7/08 at 11:05 AM

mmm. Worst thing is that if you look at the 1 year trend it looks very much like the start of an exponential graph... At least I enjoy riding a bike but 25 miles to work then 25 miles back is a bit much.

The Bush family also own a fleet of oil tankers , they changed the ships names a few years ago when daddy was no 1 and there was a fuel crissis / blockade , i found this out from the captain of one of there tankers docked in Immingham , Zanadoo line i think its called now .

If they stopped the speculation on oil prices the true price would be $60 per barrel.

Funny how the whole of Europe has to suffer while the speculator makes millions!!

there are certain economic argument as to why speculation alone CANNOT have caused the price rises. I shallnt go into them as im not an economist, but i would encourage half an hour on google regarding 'oil futures'.

But any road, i cant see how you can ban future speculation on commodity prices.
