Off to Classic Le Mans next week, and being a bit soft, was wondering whether to trailer the car to somewhere near Dover, or just drive it straight
from Wales.
Just not looking forward to driving it around London, mainly.
Has anyone else done this, or am I just being a Jessie?
a bit of a jessie but I am the same when London and driving is mentioned in the same sentence.
there is this large parking lot surrounding London known as the M25 that you can use to drive from Wales to Dover without ever having to venture into
London.
Wales - Dover is a long drive to do by motorway in a 7, but not *too* bad...maybe 5 hours?
If it's the distance you're worried about then allow a complete day for the drive and take some scenic routes, stopping frequently.
Was thinking of leaving at 3am to catch the 10am ferry - worried about the build upof traffic on the M25....
If you're thinking of leaving at such a daft time, would it not make sense to travel down the night before and stay locally?
LOL - take the M25 and you will be stopping frequently!!!
^^^^ Wot he said.

I say "daft" as I've not normally been in bed long by 3am..
struggling to get off work the day before...

To be honest i can't think of anywhere i would want to leave my car and a trailer for a long weekend in Dover.
I would suggest driving down - the earlier you can hit the M25 the better.
Maidstone - Dover is about an hour or less - not usually any holdups. watch for camera vans on the overhead bridges (and also cameras on some of the
gantries)

) Though I'd advise spending the
night in a local Travel Lodge so you won't have far to go on day of sailing
