Do you ever feel embarrassed ?

When you sell something on ebay and for some strange reason a bidding war starts taking the price a bit (well the price you thought it would reach) a tad on the high side.

We have a patio table and chairs on at the mo, 3 hours to go and double what we expected, we are now arguing which of us is going to be in when the winner collects............

:-o weve just bought a set like that off E-Gay in green. only 2 seats though. it was brand new, and boxed for about £30

Don't think that's overpriced - maybe you had your goal set a bit low!

We once sold a tent which was originally bought from Millets (and was a bit rubbish) on ebay, and it got more than it was on sale in Millets for... mad

I would have felt embarrassed at buying a Murex plasma cutter for £155 (I was sniped 4 secs from the end and it went for £160). This was an invertor based 3 phase machine with 20mm cut that the firm concerned had on their website for about £800

I wonder if they are really going to let it go for that? Almost glad in a way that I didn't win (but not really)

What's to be embarassed about if that's what they want to pay it must be worth that to them.

Our lass buys fashion label stuff at car booties and sells it on Ebay, she recently bought a bag for £2.50 and it sold for £55, I was PMSL!!!

I put a CD-ROM on a while ago and expected to get £10 for it............it went for £157

That certainly made my month and paid towards my lightweight flywheel.

I once sold a gearknob from my impreza and expected to get a tenner, but it sold for £102... (cause it was a prodrive one)

Somtimes ive had stuff go for a lot more than ive valued it at.
- One in partiualar was really bad, and i was in a rush to get it off before i went away for the week which made it possably the worst-wraped item ive ever sent as i litterally just used what i could reach from my chair in the form of second hand jiffy bags (about three of) and gaffa tape. Not even parcel tape.

Still got good feedback, so job done.

Just taken am orignal Ron Champion book off someone for £4.20 posted on buy now. Looks pritty mint as well.

- Not in away an unfair price, but they often big upto £20/25

I sold some carbon fibre stone guards - only wanted a tenner for them and they were only carbon faced with grp on the back, and the quality was poor.

I was honest as I could be in my description, possibly too honest, and they sold for £30 IIRC. I felt a bit guilty, but the buyer was more than happy.

I just hate the thought that someone might think I've ripped them off.

Ebay madness

I used to regularly sell second hand bits of VW for more than they cost new from the dealer. If that's what they want to pay
