What utter tripe!

Ducatti is an unfaired tourer and the Caterham about as extreme an example of the genre as poss.

Put a proper sports bike in, and it'll be a very different story!

Good video but I agree with Simon, that wasn't a sports bike, not even a particularly fast bike.

Exactly! If they're going to look at a top-of-the-range car that's worth £30-odd k, why not put it against a similar bike?

tks - 6/7/08 at 11:43 AM

yeah....

if you ask me the biker did everything he could... but its just as you say...

100bhp is not a quick bike... take it up to an 180bhp bike... and the outcome will be atleast different

Surely round a tight twisty hill route like that a supermoto bike like the hypermotard will be close to a proper superbike. The hill route at millbrook is basically lots of hairpins linked by different gradient slopes with a few twisties thrown in.

Was driven round there in a Nissan Almera diesel a few years ago by one of the test drivers, I wouldnt have beleived a fwd car could of gone round there quicker! Got a nice bit of air off the ski jump too!

can't see the vid but if you had the fastest race* bike and fastest race* car available pitted against each other on a twisty race cricuit. surely the car would win each time due to being able to steer and corner faster or is it not as simple as that?

* race = GP and F1
