Examples of interesting spelling, on Ebay and elsewhere
mr henderson - 6/7/08 at 11:38 AM

It's my habit to glance through the kit cars on Ebay from time to time, and I came across some spelling which amused me, and I was quite impressed with the guy's ingenuity too-

'oltinater' presume he means alternator
'uther' other?
'tannou' tonneau
and my personal favourite
'egsorst sistem'

Funny thing is, he's managed quite tricky stuff like receipt, cylinder and cheque perfectly.

There are so many spelling errors on ebay, even in the titles. God bless fat fingers

The one that really winds me up is when someone types brought for something that they bought.

I hear what you are saying there, but is it really a matter of education? Take the 'egsorst' for instance. How many times must that person have seen that word written in huge letters outside exhaust centres? If that wouldn't have stuck in his mind then I don't know what kind of education system would have done the trick

Got to agree with that. Not so much because I'm an arsey swine but it's a completely different word more than a spelling error.
