What a sight....
andylancaster3000 - 10/7/08 at 06:07 PM

Well, saw some special sights from the office window today, which looks out over the edge of Farnborough airfield under the display area. Spent most of the morning plugging my ears from inconsiderate pilots practicing for the airshow in f16s and f18s etc but the afternoon brought a couple of welcome distractions...

Firstly the Vulcan made its validation flight for the show just before lunch. What a sight, first time I've seen it fly, a true beaut. Then later on in the afternoon the F-22 did the same thing. We had been informed that it would just do a fly-by but we were treated a full display, right overhead. An awesome aircraft indeed. Can't wait t go and watch it again next week from the show.

I am there all next week - on business.

I have to say after 20 years in the industry, aircraft get kinda boring!

Not the Vulcan though

Weather permitting I think the woman and I are going to go and sit up on the hill at tweseldown to watch the air show

Used to live near Dunsfold when it was a working BAE site and used to see them testing the harriers and practising for the airshow there aswell.

We even saw a fighter looping round right over guildford last night practising for farnborough as it's only about 20 secs away in a jet fighter!
