Anyone know how to retract the pistons in C8 rear calipers?
They won't push back and I've tried screwing them back but they don't go far enough to allow the new pads to go in.
Thanks
Stu

I think the piston is reverse thread (saw a tool for this yesterday when I picked a normal one to do my dad's Galaxy)
Thanks - I'd tried a Yahoo search and got nothing.
I think I need to get a windback tool!
Thanks
Stu
Assuming the handbrake works on the caliper not separate shoes.
Try slackening back the hand brake cable tension before you start. If the hand brake cable is on the tight side the pistons won push/wind back.
If you find you need excessive force to wind/push the pistons back suspect a problem.
Of course it goes without saying to either take the lid of the master cylinder or clamp the pipe and open the nipple first.

Not done a C8 but the C5 front calipers (handbrake works on the front) needs a pentagon shaped tool to retract the pistons IIRC
Word of warning - the citroen tool in the local camberley autofactors was £45!!!
