I can see people throwing a cheap portable generator in the boot as a charge booster whilst you are parked up at your mates etc.
Not my cup of tea really..
Ok, definitely just an inner city car, styling’s not bad but not really efficient looking and not any uglier than the smart car, reasonable range
too.
Not my kind of thing but more practical than a motor bike with the weather.
Well as a city chap I can see why people do go for these. I wouldn't though for the simple reason that it would take to much management on a
daily basis. You'd have to plan your day before you set off ( I need to go to work, then to see betty and then, oh I can't that'll be
the battery done) and then always remember to charge the thing afterwards (you can imagine looking for some dirty cable to plug in on a November night
after a long day and thinking I'll do it later, yeah!)
I opted for a scooter, ok you get wet but you have the advantage of being quick and not looking like a dildo in a battery car.
Come on, that looks like a slightly remodeled G Wiz or whatever its called. And Mr W - very few of us ride our motorcycles for their practicality, and riding one must be about 1000 times more fun then humming around in an electric commode.

Oh I ride mine for fun too and putting round to the shops, but being drenched in the rain isn't my idea of fun and I speak from experience there
I was just having fun. This thread reminds me a bit of an old t shirt I had that read " I'd rather push my Norton than ride a Honda " - mind you I've owned a few very nice Hondas since then.
That sort of car would suit my Monday - Friday driving perfectly, which is 6 miles each way from home to the station. I could put up with 40mph max
as it's mostly on twisty country roads - I rarely reach 50mph in normal driving. I really don't care what it looks like, as long as it
worked.
But I don't want to pay £9K for that convenience, as I would still need a real car for the weekends...

My parents looked at a G-wizz for their place up in Rutland but there's a major problem- you have to get it serviced annually at the G-wizz
London base which is a problem when its a 110 mile drive and it's got a 40 mile capability IE annual trailer rental!! Great.....

Not also as green as you'd be led to believe - The energy used in the production and then eventual recycling of the batteries is immense not to
mention the environmental impact of the chemicals used in their construction and then the lifetime of the critical HV components in the car is only
about 10 years at best so the running costs in the long term make it an even more uneconomical proposition. Given that the bulk of cars in the UK
live outside of the cities and have average daily journey distances getting close to these maximum ranges, as had been said, a long way to go...
Still, keeps the Guardian readers happy, eh?
