bloody DVLA
saigonij - 6/8/08 at 11:39 AM

I wrote a letter to DVAL maidstone asking them to confirm i can use my own created VIN number. I get a garbled message from one of their staff asking me to give them a ring at their local office ( 01622771570 ).

which i do, except no one is bloody answering the phone.

why leave me a message asking me to ring if no one answers the bloody phones!

what a bunch of stupid monkeys. makes me so cross.

well, ill give them points for trying, but why is the DVLA so useless? are they not a public servant body????? ( ho ho he he )

Her name was Julie Whittika - Julie if you are listening - please ring back!

anyone know what the DVAL email addresses are? perhaps i can figure out her email address?

I got told my local DVLA did not accept local calls, how about that for customer service!

That said all the people working in the centre when I visited were great, just the systems that they had to work with weren't the best.

i take it all back. they have called me back :-)

she was really helpful. sadly, i need another donor car - i did not register it in my name when i took the donor parts, so i need ot find another donor car... :-(

I didn't register my donor in my name or SORN it either. I had the v5 for about two years and I never had any problem using it for age related plate. Seems to be different from office to office.

I've just got back from the Maidstone DVLA office. I have to say they were good when I re-registered the Tiger in England - but it just took me half an hour to tax it! Post office would have been quicker.

They also have a nice thing going where there is no parking other than double yellows and a warden hides round the corner!

Nice looking car by the way - where in kent are you?

For a Q reg it doesn't matter in the slightest.
If the car wasn't scrapped (i.e. officially) you should be able to get a V5c for it if you know the reg.
