Hey guys. Back in April my e-bay account was hijacked and loads of things were sold that I don't own! I sent numerous e-mails to ebay about it and never got a response. Now a letter from some debt collectors has dropped through the door from ebay for my listing fees. I just checked and I've still got a copy of the first e-mail I sent them on the 27th April. Couldn't do it via my ebay bit as they changed the password and registered e-mail address so that forgotten password didn't work either. Has anyone got a contact telephone no. for ebay uk?? I've just been on scouring their website for one.....Cheers. Oli.

I had my account hijacked and rang ebay straight away.
Fair play, they sorted it out quickly and efficiently. Shocking
How do you get your account hijacked???
Or to put it a different way- how do you avoid getting it hijacked?

1. Choose a password that is hard to guess - some people just use their username as the password believe it or not.
2. Don't click on a link in a phishing email and then fill in your details.
Internal Fraud would be my guess. Someone 'selling' ebay usernames and passwords.
Change passwords regularly. have different passwords for paypal and ebay and email, also make sure your security questions arent something that could be found out with reasonable dillegence by any prospective hacker.
So basically it's just good net sense.
IE don't use the same password for every single website under the sun, don't fall for phishing websites and don't use a dufus password
(e.g. password)
Gotcha
Reckon I'm alright then!!
Crossing my fingers pretty firmly!!
Cheers guys, will give ebay a call today on that number....Phoned the ballif type people yesterday who put me on hold for 10 mins then said as far as they were concerned it shouldn't have been passed to them as it was an ebay matter to sort so they're not taking any further action....bonus! Oli.
