American Ebay numpty

I occasionally use this site to find ebay bargains , and thought I'd found one here - as far as I can see the listing say's he ship's worldwide

Macbeast - 17/8/08 at 07:20 AM

He probably thinks worldwide means anywhere in the States - it's a common american misconception

It's like their World Series, some are in a world of their own.

Report the item to ebay

Do you not have any relations/freinds out there? bid, get them posted to them and then arrange 'worldwide' delivery.

There maybe a State side Locost builder who could help you out here .

Mike

I thought about that - but there is nothing in the `report an item` bit that covers this as far as I can see .

But that would mean paying two lots of postage , so not quite a bargain then .

If it looks like a price too good to be true, it probably is. I've had a few of those (not throttle bodies!), but thankfully was refunded.

I queried sending worldwide -
answer is

"Dear macbeast, 210 to UK"

Whatever that means

stevebubs - 17/8/08 at 04:38 PM

I bought mine from the US site a few years ago. Think they were about $100 including shipping to the UK...

clairetoo - 17/8/08 at 06:34 PM

I asked him why the listing states he ships worldwide............I just got the same `210 to UK` answer.............wot a plonker
They are at a massive $37 with 5 mins to go !

I just bought an alloy engine mount from Germany.

Guys just sent me an invoice... €29 for the part, but €49 for delivery!

I just checked the weight / size against the Deutsche Post website, and see that they charge €14!

I've asked him to look into it

Simon - 19/8/08 at 11:28 PM

I had a diff sent from Germany and I'm sure the postage was only about £35 (but deffo no more than £45).

Slightly heavier than some bike bits1
