Hi Chaps
Just a quick question for the IT/Web literate amongst you!
I had a domain (xxxx.co.uk) which I registered approximately 2 years ago. I paid the relevant registration fee and completed all the on-line
'paperwork' required. I guess the email address I provided them was one I no longer use so any reminders they sent that asking me to pay
for registering that domain have not been received. I also have no idea who I registered it through. Nominet does ring a bell! As my email has
stopped working on the domain I registered, I now think they have canceled my registration of this.
So to my question, how do I go about re-registering this domain?
Thanks

do a whois query and that should show up who you registered it with
Edit**
try this one, put your domain name into it and it will tell you who you registered it with

If its expired that should mean its available, as long as noone else has registered it yet you should be able to register it through any company setup to do this.
IIRC I don't think anyone else can register that name (except you) for a certain period after the expiry, so as long as you haven't left it for ages it should still be available.
Thanks for the info guys!

If it's definitely a .uk address then go to nominet to find out the current status
www.nic.uk
From here you should be able to see who you registered it through, and when it is/was due to expire.
If it's already expired then it may still be in purgatory and you can retrieve it - not many registrars are good at this so you may end up going
through Nominet no matter who it was registered through originally. Off the top of my head, the cost via Nominet will be approx £80.

Secondary Question - have you moved house in the last 2 years? Nominet normally send a postal reminder for all .uk domains to the registrant's
address prior to the domain expiring....
