So you buy a trailer and then find a car to match it? I'd better start looking for a car with bits nailed to the side and cracked indicators I think the trailer matching the car really sounds a better option.

I was thinking it would be fairly easy to do a Locost matching trailer using the back end of a crashed one, but browsing that site I saw this using the front end

Since there's no requirement for registering a trailer (yet) it's going to be hard for anyone to prove when a trailer was actually constructed and first used.
