There's a good series of articles on the BBC website about the scaremongering use of statistics by the media. I know it's fairly obvious that you can twist statistics to say virtually anything you want, but it's interesting to see exactly how reporters tend to mangle them. It's an interesting read even if you know your way around statistics in the first place.

Who wants to read: "George had a good day at work, didn't get killed on the way home, and was very productive in the garage once he got there"?

I would have thought most of us as long as george posts some pictures of his welding or fettling afterwards

I believe the wording was "read". Looking at pictures of said garage work is a whole other story. And his drive home might not be that dull either actually - particularly in summer.
