carpmart - 11/9/08 at 09:35 AM

whats the opinion on here, good looking motor that you would drive around in? (nice) or a pile of sh*t that you wouldn't be seen dead in? (naff)

I would rather get raped by an armoured donkey!!!

mistergrumpy - 11/9/08 at 09:40 AM

Ah, the poor mans Bentley. S'alright, I'd drive one but I wouldn't own one. Its that little niggle in your mind, a bit like driving an MR2 that looks like a Ferrari, that you know and 99% of the people looking know its just an imitation.
As well you run the risk of it making you look a bit of a t**t.

UncleFista - 11/9/08 at 09:41 AM

There's loads of 'em here in Bradford, the Asian community love 'em....

Humbug - 11/9/08 at 09:41 AM

Purely based on looks (don't know about dynamics, reliability, etc.) I would say "nice"...as long as they got rid of the pimpmobile wheels and (probably) had slightly higher profile tyres

Naff Naff Naff Naff Naff Naff Naff Naff Naff Naff Naff Naff Naff Naff Naff Naff Naff Naff Naff Naff

Looks like a drug dealer or footballer's car to me!!

Mr Whippy - 11/9/08 at 09:51 AM

why are the windows so small? is there a shortage of glass in the states, must be like a cave inside. Horrible boxy thing reminds me of Satan's THE CAR...Grrr! I'm an ugly ecological disaster on wheels!!

I'd never ever buy one but if someone wanted to swap for my Sierra Sapphire I would!

carpmart - 11/9/08 at 10:02 AM

As I suspected, and confirmed by the responses, this is a real marmite car!

russbost - 11/9/08 at 10:21 AM

I think they have enormous road presence, but don't like the "poor mans Bentley" image. They are supposed to be very reliable & hold their price well, but not so sure that will be the case with high fuel prices.

The Baron - 11/9/08 at 10:32 AM

I had one as a hire car once....... Bloody nightmare to park!!!!

I've really liked them right from the first one I saw. Also very impressive handling on the track for it's type. It's also ideal for the type of distances one often travels between destinations in SA with 500 km trips being considered a short hop.

Despite the above I would hesitate to buy one because it does look a bit like a pimpmobile - especially with those wheels and if in the wrong colour. But then maybe there are many classic Yank Tanks that I would love to own but also could be called pimpmobiles.

Jasper - 11/9/08 at 11:37 AM

Drove one in the States - pile of shite - horrible cheap '80's interior, and the usual US build quality.

For that money you could get a nice 3ltr BMW 5 series with realtively low mileage, now that's a nice car (bias 'cos I have one).

Proper Car

scootz - 11/9/08 at 11:46 AM

Everything you'd expect a US car to be like!

PS - That's not a compliment!

eznfrank - 11/9/08 at 12:30 PM

There's a really nice Hemi powered one I see outside work sometimes, I think they're a 5.7 V8, I'd have one of them.

oldtimer - 11/9/08 at 01:59 PM

A lot of car for the money, but, on that basis, a Kia is better value.........

mr henderson - 11/9/08 at 02:39 PM

This is the one I used to drive (no, it wasn't mine, but that made it all the more fun)

zilspeed - 11/9/08 at 03:19 PM

Have driven the Dodge version in the USA.

I quite liked it, but really don't like monster sized rims.

Bog standard would have to be the only way for me, and without a Bentley stylee grille.

They do look a bit bad boy for me though.

James - 11/9/08 at 03:23 PM

What was it Calarkson said about them?

"Looks like a Limo, drives like a sofa"

Was it I think !

adam1985 - 11/9/08 at 03:25 PM

sh!t wouldnt be seen dead in one even the 5.7 v8 americans just cant make nice cars

blakep82 - 11/9/08 at 05:27 PM

i love it. i like cars with short windows, like mkk1 escorts...

shit choice of engines for the 300c though, underpowered engine, underpowered engine, or V8 you need you're own oil field to run
