My gas combi boiler is on its last legs and needs to be replaced before the winter. I'm looking for an A rated reliable combi boiler and would
like to invite recommendations.
Also, do you know a good installer in the Birmingham area?
No idea of an installer for you but you won't go far wrong with a Glow-worm Ultracom Cxi. I've just installed one for my mam.
Ultracom Cxi
There are better (Vaillant or Bosch) but these are good value.
If you want a cheaper boiler look at the Ariston Micro Genus.
Edit to say: the Ariston isn't A rated, its a B

Vaillant or me. Quiet efficient and well made. Constructed in a sensible manner for ease of maintainance and replacement of parts when required. Many rave about worcester. Had a Gloworm in the past and was noisy thirsty and expensive on the parts. i think the cheap makes are false economy.
i agree with this bloke^^
the only thing i didnt like with the new vailant boilers was theres a rubber pipe on the left hand side that split i fitted about 5 or 6 of these and
they all went (whilst still in warrenty) and when i asked the rep he said yeah its quite common but they dont know why and they are still made the
same so they lost a customer in me ever since
Worcester Bosch for me too - had one for a few years now. Very economical and easy to maintain - I had a Vokera prior to it, typically Italian sh*t -
expensive, unreliable, temperamental - but it looked great! Had a guy out every year to MEND it, cost me about £250 a pop. Never looked back after
changing to W.B.

WB Greenstar- i had one fitted in my old house and got one for my mum too. A bit dearer perhaps to buy but great kit. Works brilliant with the fancy
wall stat thingy/ controller too
NOT BAXI - bloody things gone wrong 5 times in 4 years - utter piece of crap.
