from this
to this
then a fly landed on it
to make it worse, rather than leaving it there til the paint dried, i decided to pick it out, while the panel was swinging
from a hook, whilst wearing latex gloves
still, it was done just to try and tart it up and cover all the filler and stuff.
ages ago i made a post about SVAing a car with the body looking like crap, so its a temporary type paint at the minute really, its not the final
colour, but
1) a practise in spraying
and 2) to make it look half decent just now til after it gets SVA'd (plenty of machanical work to go first though...

never realised how much paint you breathe in til i used a mask when using an aerosol on my axle. it was one of those twin filter jobs with the rubber
mask, and the filters were orange like my axle. decided to ALWAYS use a mask after that...
Dont ask me to do the 200m dash, aint got much of my lungs left
scared to ask the doc why im breathless after 2000m at the crack on the rowing
machine. 21 years of age my body is a temple!! 48 years of age...... oh gawd why do I have to get up and go to work

Hmm.. I didnt use a mask when pressure washing my drive. (Dull drizzly day, no chemicals, plain water in the machine. NO Hazard... or so I thought) I breathed in LOTS of algae (blown up in the water mist).
4 days later I was completely paralysed.
Couldnt hold a teaspoon, let alone stir the tea.
I Got Guillian Barre Syndrome. The toxic algae caused my imune system to attack ME. My nervous system came under attack, and all the nerve endings were inflamed. Thus the paralysis.
I was hospitalised for 2 weeks until they confirmed what I had, and the danger period was over (If it attacks the lung or heart nerves, then you are in real trouble. ie its life threatening.
It took me 6 months to learn to walk again.
SO ALWAYS WEAR A MASK, even when the risk is low. You can never be too careful with your health.
15 years on and Its still affecting my life.
Cheers... and well done for making the mental leap to wearing breathing protection.
Dont forget the eyes, and use gloves etc etc.
Safety items can save you a lot of greif.
