Not in the UK yet, but what are the chances of them not having a go...

If they do, it will be the final straw for me.
I wanted to sell my car and put up the auction and stated that I would accept a £500 deposit by paypal and the rest in cash or cleared cheque as
paypal's fees along with ebay's would be several hundred pounds.
10 day auction was stopped by ebay with less than 8 hours to go as I had "tried to circumvent paypal fees".
So lets get this straight, I can ask for all cash and paypal don't get a look in or I can ask for £500 deposit via paypal and they get some
money too?
They shot themselves in the foot and I lost the buyers for my car.
I don't think that they have a clue!
If I am forced to use paypal then that is the end for me. Ebay own paypal so are getting commission twice for the same sale.
I am sure that there is something not quite legal here.

I've had auctions which specified deposit by paypal and rest cash on collection, and not had nay problems with ebay.
My only problems have been with the ******* ****-****s who have won the auctions and then not paid.

Not starting a new post, but on the subject of ebay.
I have 71 feedbacks and 100%, all as a buyer. I have noticed now that sellers no longer give feedback for a prompt payment. As a result I no longer
give feedback for any purchase. Has the feedback thing lost its appeal or am I bored.
There is no competition in this market, until the government gets its finger into the pie, ebay will continue to take the piss. Is there vat due on
fees from ebay?

Most sellers will wait for you to give feedback before they do. These days you paying immediately by paypal is absolutely no guarantee to the seller that they're actually going to get their money at the end of the day, until you leave positive feedback they've got no way of knowing whether they're about to be ripped off.
