Engine management light?
Try disconnecting the battery and waiting for a few minutes and then reconnect.

Duratorq?? The glow plug light is the engine fault light.

Does it still turn over and do you get all of the dash lights?

If so theres several things it could be. Theres a connector near the egr valve on top of the engine at the front battery side. The wires pop out of the connector and will cause this.

Also the ecu behind the glove box the main connector come loose. This normally shows up when u hit a bump.

The wires under the dash chaff through on the support pieces above the pedals..

The main wiring harness connector on the front slam panel comes loose and gets wet inside..

The engine earth strap corrodes on the body and where it bolts to the starter.

As owelly says though disconnect the battery and touch the terminals together for a bit and then try it.

How are they for starters.

Hi yes it still turns over and all the ignition lights come on as per usuall

have had battery disconnected and tried again but no joy

and yes they are rubbish but we have 25 of ex postoffice pilots and convoys oh the joy company might have to lash out on a code reader if heater plug light also doubles up as check emgine light

I am a post office mechanic.... They are shite. You need laser 2000 or summit to read them. Most of the universal ones wont touch them. THey rekon the ford readers will do it as it is a ford system but wev never had any joy.

Oh yeah the dual mass flywheels knacker and the dust sticks all over the cranksensor and stops it reading properly..

I've just had a mixture of these problems.
1. Had the pigtail light flashing and it turns over. but wont start
2. Nothing happens at all.

Wiggled all the relays next to ecu and it started, now it wont start at all.

Just get the battery and oil light on now.

Any more thoughts on this. I am gradually working my way through forums re this but its slow going.
