looking for a decent road tyre. I'd like something nice like a Goodyear (with goodyear written white on the walls )
have a feeling they'll be BIG money though.
have a feeling anything will be big money right enough...

They are $125 in the US, so may think about importing if they take the p!ss. No idea if they are uk legal.

Only others I could find in that size are Yokohama's.

ah, the cobra GTs are what are already on there. never heard of them, so didn't know if that were any good
$125 sounds good could potentially get a full set for maybe under £300 (inc delivery and stuff)

hmm, thats a plan. they look the business on the pick up anyway.

what i'm not sure is, the ones i've got have more than 1.6mm tread on them, but they are down to the markers

don't know what a SVA testers view is on presenting a car with used tyres

Apparently used/illegal tread depth tires and SVA is fine, it's the speed rating etc that they are looking for..

Though driving to/from the test would of course be illegal on bald tyres and may raise an eyebrow.

If they are more than 1.6mm across the tread then they are legal, the markers are a guide and are on the safe side on most tyres.

i think (i'll check again) but the markers are at 3mm i think. i gather american rules are different. but they seem ok.

they're down to the markers, but 2 have 2mm left, one has 3mm, and i can't reach the 4th just now. too much crap in the garage to see
