Im just wondering if anyone knows the name of the Purchasing Director?

MikeR - 8/10/08 at 11:06 PM

Why not phone them up and ask at hte switchboard?

ah, coz he's looking for engineering work if i remember correctly? far more professional to phone up knowing who's who, and having done your research before hand good first impression and all that

Mate of mine might know or can possibly find out. He has a load of contacts there and personally knows some of the Bamford's. I'll email him tomorrow but it will be after school as he's a teacher local to the Rocester site

Just ring and ask the switchboard. Simple.

On the TV this morning it said JCB were announcing significant redundancies (300+).

When you ring the switchboard you're not asking to be put through, just what the name is. Then you can write your letter or phone and look professional.

Many than for your help. i should have said that im after the name in connection with my current work. I had a good result yesterday in that i emailed a couple of names from old contact sheets. One has put me in touch with the Shanghai office (our plants are all in China) and the other gave me details of Directors PA. Iam happy to write a letter to the PA but as you know their role is to filter out speculative enquiries, this is why i feel it is better to be more personal and professional.
