Petrol prices coming down at last!
donut - 10/10/08 at 11:58 AM

I think it was Tesco today who announced that they are dropping the price of petrol by 3p a litre. Lets hope the others follow eh!

In Holland we have already some 10% lower prices compared to 2 month ago! Always see the positive side of the recession!

The price of a barrel of oil has nearly halved.

So should be a lot better than 3 bloody p

So are Share Prices
House Prices
and a lot of other things.

Bad times ahead for the next 3-5 years at least.

All down to those greedy bastards in the finance system

But... Wahey!!... Its Friday and the weather is supposed to be relatively dry for the weekend.
Time for a Blat in the car to cheer myself up.

apparently its not oil thats the problem, its a lack of refinerys, is this a true fact does anyone know? in which case the price of oil is not gonna affect petrol at the pump by much at all worse luck

It's the same old story - even if the price of crude oil was 0p we would still be paying through the nose for petrol because most of the current price is tax, set by the government and nothing to do with the producers/refiners/retailers

(N.B. I do not work for anybody to do with the oil/petrol trade )

maartenromijn - 10/10/08 at 01:28 PM

As I've heard the oil companies make you believe that they do not have enough capacity and the refineries are bad maintennance condition. In order to put this right, they need to raise the fuel prices. On top of that, the crude oil prices were rising (Bush did a good job for himself, and was helped by the tropical storms).

Now the oil prices are falling, I bet you will not get what is yours at the petrol station!

The oil companies will keep the prices high, and what can you do about it??
