My indicators dont work
speedyxjs - 17/10/08 at 05:59 AM

Our kangoo has developed a new problem. The indicators dont work nor do the hazards but the lights still flash when i lock/unlock them. The fuse is ok so am i right in thinking its the relay?

nor do mine, they go on, then off, then on, then off, then on, then off, then on, then off, then on, then off, then on, then off .....

.... anyways you have verified the fuse, bulbs and wiring is ok by them flashing with the central unlocking.

the relay would be t he first place to look at - can you hear it click? (should be able to unless it is some fance silent electronic thing).

Does anyone know where the relays are located? I cant find them and it doesnt seem to say in the manual

oooh, that makes it more initeresting ...

can you listen and follow the source of the sound?

most cars would have a panel in the drivers footwell or in the engine bay where the relays are hid.

yeah well the general rule is if it's getting louder you are getting nearer to it and if its getting quieter then you are going the wrong way handy tip there

Try the side of the dash inside the drivers door

The flasher will probably be near the fuse box. The flash will be done by the immobiliser electrics but it does show that it is most likely the flasher unit at fault. It may just be a wire off or broken.

Renault - 'piece of French crap' as I always say to my best mate who has a Scenic. I had a new Espace, spent more time back at Renault, mostly electrical faults - I think they are the new Italians when it comes to electrics.

Sorry, rant over .....

They sure like to make the electrics complicated. I've been going through the Haynes wiring diagram on my Megane to try and work out why the rear driver side window doesn't work! Blimey. It's like spaghetti!!

Talk about overly complicated!!

I think they are the new Italians. The Megane even has a problem with rusty wiring looms!!!

Wiring problems + Rust = ITALIAN
(up until now!!!!!)
