D Beddows - 24/10/08 at 07:49 PM

Which was nice...........

and no, I have no idea why I'm posting it on here

So anyway, as I have - if you're in the North West and need an Architectural Technologist I might be able to help you out

Should I post anything later on btw please bear in mind I may be very very drunk.....

lol....

Shite luck mate
Had two take a 2 scale point pay cut myself this week too.
Hope you find something soon.

DarrenW - 24/10/08 at 07:55 PM

Sorry to hear that Ive been made redundant twice before and fear a third.

Only strange thing is that it has ended up as a slight aggravation both times so far and ive ended up with a better job almost before the cheque was cashed.

Architectural technologist........mmmmm........sounds like a good job that does. I had a secret desire to be an architect once.

Enjoy your beer. Once the bitterness of being made redundant subsides im sure the prospect of a new opportunity will be quite exciting.

So sorry to hear that - Do hope you find something soon and things don't look too grim for you.

Bad luck mate, but as darren said above, it's not always bad.
Happened to me a few years ago and was the shove I actually needed. Ended up working for myself and am
much happier these days.

Hope it all works out for you.

Oh hell know that feeling, same thing earlier this year with an engineering company, now back in a grp firm, and its all architectural and their "having difficulties" keeping heids above water!

Sorry to hear that.
I hope you get another job soon and get back to normality.

wrigglypig - 24/10/08 at 08:44 PM

Thats not good at all:-( did notice you job title though?? I am a Police officer and work as one of the Police archetectural liaison officers working with planners and developers to design crime out of new developments prior to planning being approved etc etc, just a thought... but Police forces all over the country are recruiting officers for this sort of post as civilians as well as police officers. Might be worth have a look at your local forces and get in touch?? That is if you still want to be in this type of work?? Good luck with the job hunting ..., silver lining and all that.

Thanks guys, I'm genuinely touched

To be honest I probably needed a kick up the arse anyway and I have been here before and, as has been said, it's usually ended up being a step forward rather than a step backward.

And yes, oddly enough, it is actually quite exciting wondering what's next :-) In 2 months time if there's nothing on the horizon it wont be quite as exciting obviously

mediabloke - 24/10/08 at 09:14 PM

Sorry to hear that. There's never a right time for it to happen, but at least you're not one of the others left with more work, less pay and less certainty.

Speaking from experience as someone who's walked before for being asked to sell myself out, take your time, relax if you can and give yourself chance to choose your next move.
