What a rip off. Don't they know there's a credit crunch? Have they not heard about the upcoming recession? Talk about profiteering!!

For those of us with smaller budgets there is an alternative. IT'S HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and Don't worry it's the last one
Go on steal the kids pocket money, you know it makes sense.

No need to learn to weld , and insurance for just £3 75p !

That is brilliant!

I know a bloke who does this kind of thing in the 21st century, and there's a lot more to it these days.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to have that sort of freedom?

Thanks for the link!

Cheers

Chris

20 quid went a lot further in the 30s

Thats all very well but everyone knows that £250 is impossible so I reckon its going to cost you a lot more.

more like 27 pounds and 3 shillings (or some other of the old money speak maybe a farthing whatever that was)

My god, they show you in twice the detail "how to make a car" than they do "how to make a plane".

(i assume that so that if you're competent you can make the plane and if you're not you can't - otherwise .... eeek)

I've also decided those money grabbing swines at Quaife and Cosworth can take a hike.

Afterfinding out about THIS and THIS and THAT

red22 - 2/11/08 at 01:26 AM

and Morphy Richards...... Why waste time at Argos?

red22 - 2/11/08 at 01:31 AM

Pay money for an expensive lathe? I DON'T THINK SO!

Richard Quinn - 2/11/08 at 08:07 AM

But the comment "nor do I think that anyone can reasonably expect to build a passenger carrying vehicle for £20." makes me feel better about my £250 car!!

I started building that car in 1934 I reckon it'll be ready for SVA at the end of January.
